Having Ourselves a Merry Little Christmas!!!

On Christmas morning, we lit our Advent candles and read the conclusion of our Advent story "Tabitha's Travels", ate sausage balls while we watched "The Nativity", and sang "Happpy Birthday to Jesus" and blew out the candles and ate Baby Jesus' birthday cake. Then we opened presents.

Christmas Eve with Far-away Friends

Our friends from Kentucky visited us on Christmas eve. Debra and I went to nursing school together, and had it not been for her I don't know if I would've gotten through it. It's really neat the people the Lord puts in our paths, and even though we may not see them as often as we like, we value them and their friendship. So Christmas eve was extra special this year with the treat of seeing them. We had a great visit, and a fun one hearing Keith's humor about his wife, and Debra defending herself----well, sort of. The kids had a great time together. So much so that Leith wanted to spend the night. I just couldn't talk his momma and daddy into "swinging by here from Selma" to pick him up!

Future Bakers!

Look at this beautiful gingerbread house! A precious friend of mine and 3 of her kids came to the house to stay with our kids overnight so Jeff and I could go "away" to celebrate our anniversary! While we were gone, they made 2 gingerbread houses---all 6 of the kids working together. I had to choose one to keep, and it was a hard choice, both looked incredible! And just as a footnote, my house looked better when I got home than when I left! Now that's a true friend!!!

Soccer Players on the move!

We were on the go with all 3 kids playing soccer this year. It was Lydia's first year to play, and she was quite aggressive. Really seemed to know what was going on with the game, and scored more than a few goals. Hannah and Cy have played a few years now, and despite the freezing cold of the past, asked to play again this year. Cy's team had some close games this year, with one going into "overtime" due to a tie. Hannah's team was undefeated, and did not let another team even score on them!
